about

The EP “I Don’t Think I Do” gathers four songs recorded by Augusta in early January, wrapped in a dressing gown and the comfort of her home. It touches on feelings of guilt, stubbornness and denial while also paying homage to a friends’ warmth, kindness and ability to comfort others. Written in an all too familiar effort to make sense of the confusing and make peace with the hurting, a common theme throughout is that where there is doubt and vulnerability there is also strength and the potential to grow.

lyrics

Give me a reason to come home
It was always what you did
Give me a reason oh come on
It was always what you did
It was always you
It was always you
It was always you

There’s a man in the crowd who I mistook for you
He was blond and tall and slight, he looked just like you

Give me a reason, anything at all
For I’m sinking slow
Tell me who’d I write to now, and who d’I talk about?
You act like you don’t know
It was always you
It was always you
It was always you

There’s a man in the crowd who I mistook for you
He was blond and tall and slight, he looked just like you

And I’ll stand amongst the people till I can feel you near me
And my stubbornness will keep me here until I believe
That it’s me and the crowd that is you
We are not one hundred, we are two

It was always you
It was always you
It was always you
